  • Just Peachy

I don't know the last time I've been so excited for Pantone to release the color of the year. This year's color brings back some fond 80's junior high / high school memories. Peach and turquoise were my colors long before they were cool (I'm looking through Momma's old photo albums for proof). House Beautiful describes this year's color, Peach Fuzz, as a light, delicate shade that sits between pink and orange. This soft, heartfelt hue expresses the desire to nurture kindness, compassion, and connection—all while fostering a deep coziness as we seek a peaceful future. Before we continue, can we just stop and appreciate Princess Di in this peach ensemble on a visit to Australia in 1983 (Getty Images). I mean, who didn't love Princess Di? I love Pantone's description of this year's color: "PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and soul. In seeking a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance. A shade that resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly bridges the youthful with the timeless." Of course, you will be seeing FUZZY peach all over Flying SR this year, including a few samples of peach colored wild rags: You know I'll be adding some peach colored sunnies to my collection, including these peach colored cat eyed sunglasses: If y'all come across a vintage pearl snap like the one I found on Etsy, please let me know. I would love to add something like this to my wardrobe! And before you think I'm completely, wholeheartedly binging peach, you're not wrong (the only peach I won't be partaking in is Boone's Farm Sun Peak Peach or Fuzzy Navel...how are we all still alive?)! I will be watching out and sharing these fashionable colors this spring: Rooibos Tea Orangeade Watercress Desert Flower Chambray Blue Pastel Lilac Marlin Blue Lemon Drop Mint Capri And I didn't forget the home goods! if you're looking for colors for your home, look at persimmon, pearly white, and friendly yellow. Well I hope you have a peach of a day and remember life is too short to take yourself seriously! Big love, Red

  • God's Love Never Changes

It's been a while since I've shared here - so I am making an effort in 2024 to do better! As I was sitting down yesterday morning to start my tasks at hand, I was visiting with my big sissy and reading my devotional. I told her that my devotional hit right where it hurts. God had me standing still before I even got through the second sentence. What I received from this devotional was.... When we feel the most happy and steady in God's promises, fully trusting, fully believing and fully rooted in His love has a DIRECT correlation to our connection to Him, our time spent with Him and His word. When we're deeply rooted, we feel strong, joyful, and purposeful! What better gifts can we all for? Who wouldn't want that every day? And then the gentle reminder jumped off the page: God's love for you NEVER changes. Wow. Just sit in that for a little while and "may you seek God throughout your day, and may you be sweetly surprised by the joy, peace, and well-being that fills your heart and soul." • Long Live Cowboys!

I don't even know where to begin - I could write an entire book about this man. So, I'm going to start out small. We're hosting a "fun"raiser in honor of Milo Wilson, world's greatest cowboy, rancher, gentleman, father, grandfather, and friend. As the National Day of the Cowboy approaches, the Sul Ross State University ANRS & Rodeo Exes Reunion, and the 99th Annual Ski Hi Stampede (all this weekend), we are going to donate a portion of all sales to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. My grandfather (pictured left in 1979) served as president of the Ski Hi Stampede, as well as other positions, including arena director. My grandmother also served as the rodeo secretary (if you haven't seen the photo of Bob "Bulldancer" riding his mule into my grandmother's rodeo office, let me know). Milo was at the very first Stampede in 1919 and served as the Parade Marshall in 2001, having attended each and every Stampede until is death in 2004. Technically, this year should be the 102nd Stampede, but the rodeo was put on hold during World War II and again last year, 2020, due to global health concerns. We've always been supporters of the JCCF, but when my grandfather passed away in 2004, we experienced first-hand the organization's support and kindness. Thanks to Mike Cervi, PRCA stock contractor and family friend, donations were made in my grandfather's name and the JCCF were among the first to extend their condolences. Next year, 2022, will be the 100th Ski Hi Stampede, and holds the title of the oldest professional rodeo in Colorado. We are excited to be going and representing our grandparents during the events of the weekend. Over the next 12 months, you will definitely be hearing and seeing more about Ski Hi and Monte (Vista, Colorado) through our stories on the blog, photos shared on social media, and some fun new products we'll be sharing this fall. As part of the fundraiser, a portion of all sales will be donated to the JCCF through August 31, 2021. A 10% discount code is available and good through that date (COWBOYS). All purchases made through August 31 will also include a 15% discount code to be used on subsequent purchase and good through December 31, 2021. Long live cowboys and the legacies they left behind. Big Love, RED #flyingsrcustomworks #flyingsr #cowboylife #westernlife #ranchlife #jccf #keepamericacowboy #makeamericacowboyagain #longlivecowboys #rodeolife #liveyourlegacy
