Apparently, my post about Brussels sprouts brought about more attention than custom order wild rags this week!
I love food, but have always felt fear when forced to eat green peas and brussels sprouts. BS taste like dirt smells. Until last night! I fixed us Brussels sprouts that used a LITTLE bacon grease and some butter and they were actually REALLY good. So good, I managed to get Mama D (who HATES BS) to eat two.
So I thought I would share the recipe for safe keeping for those of you who have reached out to me wanting to overcome your dislike for these little veggies.
Enjoy! RED

Brussels Sprouts with Bacon and Butter
(From Keto Diet - Fat Burning Recipes for Women)
Ingredients:
6 slices thick-cut bacon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts (about 24 medium), halved
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons butter, softened
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cook bacon in large cast iron skillet until almost crisp. Drain on paper towel-lined plate; set aside. Drain all but 1 TBS drippings.
Add Brussels sprouts to skillet. Sprinkle with 1/4 tsp salt and 1/4 tsp pepper; toss to coat. Spread in skillet.
Roast 30 minutes or until Brussels sprouts are browned and crispy, stirring every 10 minutes.
Add butter to skillet; stir until completely coated. Stir in bacon; season with additional salt and pepper, as needed.
