  • Honoring the Unsung Heroes: Western Moms Who Do It All

In the heart of the Western frontier, amidst sprawling ranches and endless prairies, there exists a breed of mothers unlike any other. These are the women who embody the spirit of the wild west, who don their boots and saddle up for a life that's equal parts challenging and rewarding. From sunup to sundown, they're the unsung heroes of the rural landscape, juggling the responsibilities of motherhood with the demands of ranching, farming, and everything in between. At the crack of dawn, before the rooster crows, you'll find these Western moms already hard at work. With sleeves rolled up and grit in their veins, they're out in the fields, tending to crops or tending to livestock. From the back of a horse or behind the wheel of a tractor, they navigate the rugged terrain with a determination that's as unwavering as the Rocky Mountains themselves. But their work doesn't end there. Oh no, far from it. These are the mothers who wear many hats – quite literally, in some cases. They're the ones who can rope a calf one minute and whip up a hearty meal the next. They're the ones who can mend fences with one hand while soothing a crying child with the other. They're the ultimate multitaskers, balancing the demands of the land with the needs of their families without missing a beat. And let's not forget about their role as mentors and role models. These Western moms are raising the next generation of ranchers, farmers, and stewards of the land. From teaching their children the value of hard work to instilling in them a deep respect for nature, they're passing down traditions that have been handed down for generations. Whether it's helping out with chores around the farm or showing animals at the county fair, these kids are learning important life lessons that can't be found in any textbook. But perhaps what sets these Western moms apart is their indomitable spirit – their ability to face adversity with grace, resilience, and a healthy dose of humor. They know that life out on the frontier isn't always easy, but they tackle each challenge head-on, undeterred by the obstacles that lie in their path. Whether it's a drought, a blizzard, or a stubborn calf that just won't cooperate, they meet each setback with a can-do attitude and a determination to succeed. So here's to the Western moms who do it all – who work the land, raise their families, and keep the spirit of the wild west alive and thriving. You may not always get the recognition you deserve, but know that your tireless efforts do not go unnoticed. You are the backbone of the rural community, the glue that holds it all together, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Happy Mother's Day to our fearless Western mamas – may your boots be muddy, your hearts full, and your spirits forever wild and free.

  • God's Love Never Changes

It's been a while since I've shared here - so I am making an effort in 2024 to do better! As I was sitting down yesterday morning to start my tasks at hand, I was visiting with my big sissy and reading my devotional. I told her that my devotional hit right where it hurts. God had me standing still before I even got through the second sentence. What I received from this devotional was.... When we feel the most happy and steady in God's promises, fully trusting, fully believing and fully rooted in His love has a DIRECT correlation to our connection to Him, our time spent with Him and His word. When we're deeply rooted, we feel strong, joyful, and purposeful! What better gifts can we all for? Who wouldn't want that every day? And then the gentle reminder jumped off the page: God's love for you NEVER changes. Wow. Just sit in that for a little while and "may you seek God throughout your day, and may you be sweetly surprised by the joy, peace, and well-being that fills your heart and soul." • Long Live Cowboys!

I don't even know where to begin - I could write an entire book about this man. So, I'm going to start out small. We're hosting a "fun"raiser in honor of Milo Wilson, world's greatest cowboy, rancher, gentleman, father, grandfather, and friend. As the National Day of the Cowboy approaches, the Sul Ross State University ANRS & Rodeo Exes Reunion, and the 99th Annual Ski Hi Stampede (all this weekend), we are going to donate a portion of all sales to the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund. My grandfather (pictured left in 1979) served as president of the Ski Hi Stampede, as well as other positions, including arena director. My grandmother also served as the rodeo secretary (if you haven't seen the photo of Bob "Bulldancer" riding his mule into my grandmother's rodeo office, let me know). Milo was at the very first Stampede in 1919 and served as the Parade Marshall in 2001, having attended each and every Stampede until is death in 2004. Technically, this year should be the 102nd Stampede, but the rodeo was put on hold during World War II and again last year, 2020, due to global health concerns. We've always been supporters of the JCCF, but when my grandfather passed away in 2004, we experienced first-hand the organization's support and kindness. Thanks to Mike Cervi, PRCA stock contractor and family friend, donations were made in my grandfather's name and the JCCF were among the first to extend their condolences. Next year, 2022, will be the 100th Ski Hi Stampede, and holds the title of the oldest professional rodeo in Colorado. We are excited to be going and representing our grandparents during the events of the weekend. Over the next 12 months, you will definitely be hearing and seeing more about Ski Hi and Monte (Vista, Colorado) through our stories on the blog, photos shared on social media, and some fun new products we'll be sharing this fall. As part of the fundraiser, a portion of all sales will be donated to the JCCF through August 31, 2021. A 10% discount code is available and good through that date (COWBOYS). All purchases made through August 31 will also include a 15% discount code to be used on subsequent purchase and good through December 31, 2021. Long live cowboys and the legacies they left behind. Big Love, RED #flyingsrcustomworks #flyingsr #cowboylife #westernlife #ranchlife #jccf #keepamericacowboy #makeamericacowboyagain #longlivecowboys #rodeolife #liveyourlegacy
